Meet Jennifer (School Owner, Roswell, Georgia): 2nd Degree Black Belt

Hello, my name is Jennifer, I was born in London, England in November 1965 and am a Bachelor of Science (Honors) graduate in Psychology.  One of three children, I was raised and educated in a small town named Sydenham in South East London.  My childhood memories consist of climbing trees, riding my bike up and down the street and generally making a lot of noise!

I am married to a Dane, Bo Poulsen (see Bo's biography), a 1st Degree Black Belt and Chief Instructor, who I met in London in 1987.  I have since lived in Copenhagen, Denmark, for almost seven years, where I worked for the British Embassy. In 1998 I moved to Paris, France with Bo and our son Alexander, who is now eleven years old and a 1st Degree Black Belt in Choi Kwang Do.  After spending three years on the other side of the English Channel,  we returned to England with another addition to the family, our daughter Francesca, who is now eight years old and a Brown Belt Senior in Choi Kwang Do.  It was here in England that we began our training in Choi Kwang Do under the teaching and guidance of  Master Nigel Brophy (5th Degree Black Belt).

In May 2004, we moved to Roswell, Georgia and decided to make this our permanent home.  I consider myself extremely lucky to be able to continue training in Choi Kwang Do at the International Headquarters in Kennesaw and in June 2005, I became a 1st Degree Black Belt - it was certainly a very proud moment for me and the first of many goals.  Four months later I became a Chief Instructor. I am also truly grateful to have met my best friend, Elizabeth Bowers (see Elizabeth's biography), here in Roswell - she is a woman of incredible strength and courage and a great inspiration to me - someone I learn much from each day.

For me, Choi Kwang Do is not just 'an interest'.  It has become a way of life.  It has become a part of me.  It has become my passion and it is this passion I wish to share with others and look forward to welcoming them into the Choi Kwang Do family.
